Dr. AJ Sekhon

Dr. Ajaipal Sekhon has only one mission when it comes to the practice of dentistry; provide a clinical experience that is second to none. With respect to that philosophy, he has and will continue to seek out new methods, materials and techniques to stay consistent and ahead of the ever-changing landscape when it comes to dental care. Technology is an area where he will always stay on the cutting edge looking for better, efficient and more comfortable ways to treat patients. He started Defiance Dental Studio in Ruston, Washington as a start-up in 2016 and has grown the practice to the point where an expansion was not only necessary, but also desired to make the clinical experience the very best it can possibly be. Living in Old Town, he is honored and humbled to have the opportunity to provide his neighbors and anyone in the greater Tacoma area an experience he would want for himself, his family and his friends. He makes it a point to make sure his patients know he genuinely cares about their health and wellbeing and does his best to help lighten the atmosphere with humor and reassurance that comfort is key when he treats them. 

Dr. Sekhon, or AJ as he likes his patients to refer to him as, lives in Old Town Tacoma with his wife Harjeet Sekhon MD, a practicing OB/GYN in Tacoma and his two children. He enjoys visiting and hiking along the numerous, beautiful parks in Washington and loves the PNW lifestyle. He loves music, specifically hard rock and heavy metal, and loves talking about it and the many shows he’s attended or will attend. He enjoys sports and attends many Mariners games a year, at some point in a conversation he will use baseball analogies whenever and wherever he can. He wants everyone to bat a thousand when it comes to their oral health and wellbeing!
